What is conservative dentistry?

Conservative dental treatment deals with the causes, the development and treatment of problems as well as the possibilities of tooth preservation. These include cariology (the treatment of tooth decay when there is a cavity in the tooth), dental fillings (reconstruction of destroyed teeth in terms of aesthetics and functionality), endodontics (treatment of the inner tissue of the tooth, e.g. root canal treatment) and periodontology (prevention, treatment and aftercare of periodontal diseases, i.e. gums, bones and root surfaces).
